Residents

At Chance we provide supported accommodation for young people in a shared house or a self contained apartment. Our main aim is supporting young adults to move onto successfully living independently. Our shared accommodation has four to five bedrooms, a residents lounge and kitchen for shared use. They are close to local amenities, town center where there is a leisure center, shopping center and establishments offering further education.
Once they arrive they'll be introduced to their key worker, who will work with the young person to create a support plan based on their individual needs. Our key workers will meet with them regularly during their stay.
Our staff will help them to access other agencies where necessary. They can stay in the home for up to two years: during this time we will support the young person to gain confidence and learn life skills needed to confidently move into their own accommodation.
We provide in-house training for residents through our Home & Money and Ready 2 Move tenancy training; there are opportunities for training through local Learn Direct centers and colleges.
We accept referrals from various London Local Authorities, Supported Housing via London Borough Council Homeless Teams. If your young person is aged 16 - 18yrs and you think we can help, please get in touch 0207 118 6558 or email us for more information info@chancefs.org
All staff employed by Chance will have a full enhanced DBS and will be subject to the same appointment criteria set out in Schedule 11 of Children’s Homes Regulations. They will all be required to attend for an interview and will need two satisfactory references before they are allowed to start work with young people.
All staff will receive regular supervision and training will be offered as part of staff development. Chance is committed to a fully qualified workforce and promotes NVQ qualifying courses for all employees working with young people. Chance provides outreach support to young people living in their own accommodation within the community.
